Styleguide

 

 

Please use the following guide when it comes to compiling your portfolio’s bibliography. I’ve tried to cover all eventualities, but if you feel there is something that I’ve missed, please let me know.

I would recommend separating your bibliography into primary (script, translation, programme, performance etc.) and secondary material (review, books, journal articles etc.).

 

 

Authored books:

Author. Date. Title. Place of publication.

E.g.,:

Goldhill, S. 1986. Reading Greek Tragedy. Cambridge.

 

 

Edited volumes (single editor):

Editor. (ed.) Date. Title. Place of publication.

E.g.,:

Easterling, P.E. (ed.) 1997. The Cambridge Companion to Greek Tragedy. Cambridge.

 

 

Edited volume (multiple editors):

Editors. (eds) Date. Title. Place of publication.

E.g.,:

* N.b. As strange as it may look, to then reference your YouTube clip either in the body of the text or as a footnote, you need to use the Uploader and Date. So the in-text reference would be (JapanSocietyNYC 2011) or as a footnote: JapanSocietyNYC 2011*
